When the days get shorter and nature puts on her magnificent fall dress, Mittersill becomes the perfect place for a relaxing break. Until October 6th, you have the opportunity to experience the vibrant colors of Salzburg’s Pinzgau region up close, before we go on our annual break until November 5th.

The golden season offers numerous excursion possibilities in the region. How about a hike to the Krimml Waterfalls, for example, which cascade through the autumnal nature with a mighty spray? Or a walk around the Hintersee lake near Mittersill, where the surrounding trees are reflected in bright colors and the clear water creates a mystical atmosphere? The fresh autumn air and mild climate invite you to explore the hiking trail network of the Hohe Tauern National Park – be it leisurely or more ambitious.
Regional sights – culture and enjoyment
Pinzgau also has a lot to offer culturally in the fall. The National Park Center in Mittersill, just a few minutes away from the Hotel Heitzmann, offers an impressive multimedia exhibition that introduces visitors to the unique flora and fauna of the Alps. There are also historical sites such as the Felberturm Museum, which offers insights into the rich history of the region. Afterwards, you can indulge in seasonal delicacies in our steakhouse – our chef has put together a selection of dishes with regional ingredients especially for the fall that you shouldn’t miss.

For our guests who prefer to enjoy the golden fall in peace, the wellness area of the Hotel Heitzmann is the ideal retreat.
